Last Wednesday, I flew from Guatemala City to Hartford via Miami. I
lost my checked luggage in Miami. This is not a normal lost luggage
situation, and the airline is not going to help me find the luggage.

I think that my only hope of finding the luggage is to hire someone in
Miami who can spend about 4 hours at the airport on my behalf.
Specifically, I want someone to go to the Miami Airport Lost & Found
and look for my luggage, and I also want them to go to American
Airlines' lost luggage people and lobby on my behalf.

My luggage does not have great monetary value, so I don't want to
spend inordinate amounts of money on this quest. It does, however,
include a 10-year old leather jacket that is broken in to me, plus
other items of emotional value. I'm hoping there might be a Kelly
Services near the airport or that I could hire someone from one of the
airport hotels.

I'm a little pressed for time right now, but thought I would toss the
question out. Let me know if you need clarification before tackling
this.

Hello natalieemt,

You may want to try using Craigslist to find a person to help you with this.

The Miami Craigslist can be found at:
http://miami.craigslist.org/

You can place a free ad:
http://miami.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/posting.cgi?areaID=20&subAreaID=0

Or look through the resumes:
http://miami.craigslist.org/res/

A personal assistant type person might do this sort of work.

Good Luck,
