I am only looking for foundations that are SOURCES of funds. For
example, a family may start a foundation for helping children. This
foundation would make grants to different charities that are
consistent with the mission of the foundation.

Most of the organizations on this list are charities, not foundations.
They are our competitors and are also looking for funds.

There are apparently 12,000 foundations in Switzerland, but they are
not listed in any directory, at least as far as I know.

Your latest answer is the sort of thing I was looking for, but
obviously only a tiny fraction of the foundations out there. I am
ideally looking for a database of hundreds or thousands of names,
which I might be willing to buy if necessary. Did you come across any
links for address lists of foundations?

Thanks!

Clarification of Answer by bobbie7-ga on 25 Nov 2003 09:29 PST
Dear Apir,

Unfortunately I was not able to locate a database of foundations. The
foundations that I found were from individual searches that I did.

In any case I will do additional research and if I find a database of
foundations for Switzerland or even for Europe, I will let you know.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
Bobbie7
