What is the medicare reimbursement that a hospital recives for a
spinal fusion procedure in Bismarck North Dakota? The hospital is
Medcenter One where Medicare may not reimburse the same amount for the
exact procedure done in Washington DC because the average cost of
living is lower. Medicare will reimburse the hospital operating room
under a DRG code a certain $ amount but this amount may differ from
one neurosurgeon to another doing the same Spinal fusion procedure. So
again I would like to know what the maximum amount Medicare will pay
the hospital versus what a private insurance carrier would pay for a
Spinal fusion procedure?
