For the last few years, (up until last week) when anyone searched the
phrase "bartending schools, or bartending school" my site,
www.pbsa.com always came up in the top three. Now it is on page seven.
I own a nationwide chain (23 locations) of bartending schools, the
largest in the country.Yet my site is now on the back pages. The
second largest group of schools, ABC Bartending is still number one
and it appears the automatice search goes to the categorie of bars and
nightclubs where he is listed. How do I get my site, which is the
rational top five listing for the search query "bartending schools"
back where it belongs?

Greetings Bartender:

I reviewed your keywords and the problem *might* be that you have used
the word bartending too many times - I counted over 60 uses of the
word bartending in your keywords. If Google has tweaked their
spiders, this may have been viewed as "keyword spamming."

Viewing your Source Code, your keywords show as follows:
Bartending Schools, Bartending School, bartending equipment,
bartender's equipment, bar equipment store, bar supplies, Bartending,
Bartender, Bartending schools in Orlando FL, Bartending school in
Orlando FL, Bartending schools in Florida, Bartending school in
Florida, Bartending school in Cherry Hill, NJ, Bartending schools in
Georgia, Bartending school in Georgia, Bartending schools in Atlanta
GA, Bartending school in Atlanta GA, Bartending schools in St. Louis

The keywords in the first result searching "bartending school" read as follows:
Pro Bar, ProBar, pro bar, probar, bartending, bartender, training,
education, course, school, cocktails, cock tails, mixology, bar
apparatus, glassware, glass ware, liquor, smart serve, smartserve,
Smart Serve, Smartserve, certificate, hospitality, ottawa, Ottawa,

From Source Code at http://probar.ncf.ca

The word appears four times there.

The site at http://www.monstersmallbusiness.com/article_marketing_how_does_google_work.asp
reads in part "Google awards 'points' for how often keywords are
mention, how prominent they are on the page and the location on the
page. It is important not to overdue repetitive keywords? Google
filters these sites out as 'keyword spamming.'"

I am not up on the current "Google Dance" algorithms and I hope a
researcher who is will be able to more fully explain the various
reasons your site may have dropped in the rankings. However, when I
searched the term with the area name like the following:

bartending schools Nashville
bartending school Knoxville
bartending school Ohio
etc.

your site appears on the first page.

Best regards,
journalist-ga
