Need some basic information on the life of illustrator Fred A. Mayer,
enough to create a very brief C.V., perhaps 3-4 sentences.  All I can
find on Google is "Illustrated by Fred A. Mayer".  Born when and
where?  Died when & where?  Honors, achievments? etc.

I don't know if the lack of a death date means that he might still be
alive, or just that the library is not aware of his death date.
