I have a website (www.datadate.com) we recently purchased this site
from an individual and have re-vamped the site. The problem is that
the old site was using commission junction for its affiliate program
so all our affiliates that signed up through the old system are
sitting out there with dead links. Commision Junction is no help since
they say they cannot release that information to us.
So I guess what I'm looking for is this:
1)A list of all sites linking to datadate through commission junction.
2)If possible on these linking sites a list of contact/webmaster email addresses

I've done searches with link:www.datadate.com and can see all the good
links to our site (36 results) - not sure how to get all the bad ones.

if I do a search for datadate I can get about 67,000 results.
Some examples of info I need:
http://www.truste-marketing.com/search/datadate_com.html - In this
case I cant find an email address but its good to know the affiliates
site.
http://www.ecocomercial.com/datadate.htm - this guys got a mailto: on the homepage.

Common guys this is a fun one. It will be so satisfying knowing that
you helped make the internet a cleaner place.

If nothing else do it for the kids...

Ok lets make this a bit easier - Nevermind the above mentioned number
2 portion of the request, if I had a list of the all the sites linking
to datadate through commission junction then I could write something
myself to pull the contact information.

Another thought - if there were some way to search through HTML
content I would look for a link to "http://www.qksrv.net" and the
mention of dataDate. Problem is I dont see a good way to search for
link content.

I tried this ... seems like the right direction but it doesn't work.
Google search - link:http://www.qksrv.net "+date"
For some reason I cant see who links to http://www.qksrv.net and I'm
not sure you can combine querys with the link: operator

Thanks

I have a feeling that search engines ignore the value (and therefore
just ignore) links to the major affiliate sites.

Hi jackerman,

I think most researchers are reluctant to answer to your question
because you're asking for "A list of ALL sites linking to datadate
through commission junction." That is very hard if not impossible
without access to commission junction's database.

It might be a good idea to ask for 50 or 100 or whatever number of
sites. It might also be a good idea to estimate how much time would
take the researcher to answer your question and then estimate a price
for the answer.

Tips for any researcher tackling this question...

There are three types of qualifying sites - those still linking via
CJ, those who have removed their CJ links (but the page is still
cached), and those with ordinary links to DataDate.

Many of the latter will be like mine (I'm a former affiliate), who
changed their link from a CJ one to a normal one when the affiliate
program via CJ ended. Therefore they *could* be former affiliates, and
are definitely candidates for any future affiliate program.

Most of the CJ links will be of a cut and paste type. Few affiliates
write their own copy. If you just search for DataDate, you might find
repeated phrases like this:

"Find a HOT DATE at dataDATE.com" - they were/are all linking to CJ.

Be wary of sites who have gotten content from 3rd parties, such as:
http://www.americansearchengine.com/matchmaking/

Also try using non-Google search engines, because they tend to be
updated less often than Google, and are better for locating older
data.
