I have searched google throughly and cannot find a good website that
rates the bottled water companies. I found a book on amazon but I
mean a website that has the information on the quality of each bottle
water company in comparision with each other. Quality as compared to
tap water, nutrients, etc.

I have found a site that has such information, but you are required to
subscribe to read the article. Are you interested? The cost of a
subscription is $4.95 per month or $24 per year.

Hi vip4me-ga,

If the reason for your question is related to improving your health,
I would strongly suggest you to buy a water distiller at Sears, use it
with one of the advanced PUR pitchers(along with/instead of the provided
marginal carbon filter). There has been too much of negative opinions
on distilled water, but it mainly corresponds to either de-ionized (or)
reverse osmosis water and not really steam distilled water. The issue of
dissolved carbon-di-oxide(leading to carbonic acid) is also overstated.
I am sure you could not get much better water than this. You might want
to get an additional serving carafe for storage, and a small bottle of
the distiller cleaner. Distilled water from store may not be of same quality
since, you do not know about the maintenance of the equipment, and the
contaminants being added during transporation/storage.
Hope this comment helps you.

Hi,

I don't know if this will be of help, but the "Advocate" newspaper in
Fairfield County, CT published an investigative, name-naming article
this past summer. Also, if you want to purchase bottle water, my
sister lives near the Stockbridge-Randolf VT spring, who really use
the spring water off of the Green Mountains. They supply store brands
and others, so if you see stockbridge or Randolf on the label, that's
where it's from.

Hello vip4me-ga,

I was researching another question when I ran across this article that
may be of interest to you.

Bottled Water vs. Bottleless Water Coolers

According to the World Health Organization, "Some substances may prove
more difficult to manage in bottled than tap water. This is generally
because bottled water is stored for longer periods and at higher
temperatures than water distributed in piped distribution systems.
Control of materials used in containers and closures for bottled
waters is, therefore, of special concern. In addition, some
micro-organisms, which are normally of little or no public health
significance, may grow to higher levels in bottled waters."

EPA Bottled Water Study

Deficiencies in bottling firms' surveillance, facilities and their
operation and plant quality control result in the production of
bottled water whose quality doesn't comply with the 1962 U.S. Public
Health Service Drinking Water Standards.

The pilot survey of 25 bottling establishments and bacteriological and
chemical examination of approximately 50 bottled water products
revealed the following:
(See list of findings)

***** The article doesn't address specific brands of bottled waters
but it definitely gives you a lot to think about whatever brand you
buy.
