I would like to obtain monthly average temperatures for the north pole
(90 degrees N), with monthly maximum/minimum data. I understand that
up to date, north pole lack a permanent weatherstation like at the
Antarctic pole, but I`ve heard that there should at least exist an
automatic weathersender that transmit and record weather data. It
doesnt matter if the average data is lesser than the standard 30
years, I would be glad for any possible climatic statistics for this
region available. Also, I would like to know, if possible, about the
absolute maximum/minimum temperature that was ever recorded on north
pole.
Also, the percipitation/sunshine etc. data are also desirable, if possible.

Hi musico,

This has turned out to be more of a challenge than I would've thought
- I have to quit searching as my eyes are beginning to complain and my
brain is turning to mush. I'll leave you with a couple of good links
that in themselves don't answer your questions but are interesting
none-the-less. The first link listed would be a good one if they had
included all twelve months.

Monthly temperatures for the winter months only from 1952:

You can order a CD which is chock-a-block full of Arctic data -
presumably, you could search for 90 deg N.

compressed, and 632 MB uncompressed. The data are in the form of
individual marine reports with a given latitude and longitude. A
UNIX-based Fortran program is distributed with the data files."

Thanks hummer! I found your links as very useful (as Iam a weather
enthusiast), and infact, I even ordered the CD you suggested. But,
unfortunately, these links
doesn`t provide any information on what I was mainly looking for -
namely, monthly temperature averages for the north pole. I just hope
that someone can find something untill my question expires. Many
thanks,
musico-ga.
