According to her obituary, Pamela Vaull Starr (real name Violet
Isabelle Carter Popp) was a poet, artist, and writer. Born in
Indianapolis on 5 April 1909, she moved to California living in
Riverside and then Idyllwild. According to her obituary, she went to
the University of California, Riverside, California State University,
San Bernardino and Riverside Community College. She was actively
involved in a number of organizations including the Girl Scouts, the
American Red Cross, and she founded the Idyllwild branch of "Pen
Women." She died on 4 January 1993. You can view a part of the
