I am looking for sources of commercial grade furniture in France, for
the purpose of furnishing a renovated château that will be used as a
hotel. We are looking for both antique and contemporary items.

For these purposes "contemporary" means post bauhaus design, including
things manufactured of metal, plastic, etc.

"Antique" here means 19 or early 20th century, but does not include
high-end one-of-a-kind items. What would be ideal would be to find an
antique furnishing broker that liquidated institutional furniture from
old hotels, convents, schools or other institutions that might have a
number of the same pieces.

Information on regularly scheduled flea-markets is not needed.

Sources can be either English or French language.

Dear Tommer-ga,

In first place, I'll give a list of general furniture providers,
manufactured in the present, though some of them old-stylish. It could
be of your interest that many of them are not just furniture providers
but also give a service as consultants for an integral hotel
installation solution.
Search strategy: At Pages Jaunes ( http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/pj.cgi )
(French yellow pages), case-by-case review in the category
"fournitures pour hôtels-restaurant" (equipment for
hotels-restaurant).

Secondly, you'll have a list of antique furniture dealers. I did not
come across with any website specifying if they had a complete set of
furniture as a whole -as liquidate from an old institution- but I
believe any of the companies listed below may be likely to have one
occasionally; it's probably a matter of opportunity. Search strategy,
French words "mobilier ancien" (old furniture).

For telephone numbers, please precede dialing with country code 33
corresponding to France.
