Hello,

I'm looking for some very specific information on Frank Sinatra .... I
know when in Los Angeles, CA he worked at the Warner Brothers lot, but
in which office?

To be clear, what I want to know is:

What was the building number AND office number belonging to Frank
Sinatra when he worked at Warner Brothers in Los Angeles?

Thank you in advance.

Hello foofoo37-ga!

Wow! What a wonderful treat! You are truly an exemplary customer--if
we researchers could rate customers, I?d surely give you 5 stars! And
may I please also express my appreciation for my good friend and
colleague, Pinkfreud-ga for her kind gesture? And foofoo37-ga, thank
you so much.

Thank you for this opportunity to answer your question,
notwithstanding the fact that the answer is probably not what you?d
hoped. As I stated in my comment, I was disappointed that I couldn?t
offer you better news. One of the things that I truly enjoy about
being a researcher is that feeling of excitement at finding something
that I know the customer really seeks and then being able to share
that information with the customer.

So, to answer your question, I?ll tell you about my search strategy
and then post what I hope are some helpful and interesting links for
you.

I first located the Warner Bros. Studio website
(http://wbsf.warnerbros.com/) and clicked on their ?General
Information? link. I then located the Department Contact List through
the ?Contact Us? link. I searched for what I felt would be the most
appropriate department contact and decided on the studio tour
department. I figured that they would know the answer and if not, they
could at least help point me in the right direction. So, I sent an
e-mail to studiotour@warnerbros.com and asked your question.

They promptly replied and informed me that unfortunately, they didn?t
know the answer to the question. The person who wrote me then told me
that my best bet would be to contact the Archive Department. I was
given the recommendation to call the main switchboard at (818)
954-6000. I did so and was directed to the archive department.

I spoke with a woman there who informed me that I would need to
contact someone at the corporate office for that kind of release of
information. I was then given an e-mail address for that contact. I
wrote with the question and received a reply stating that for privacy
and security reasons, they do not ever release the building and office
numbers of people who work or have worked in the past at Warner Bros.
I was disappointed to read this, but thought that I?d at least post a
comment to let you and other researchers know and be aware of this
information. And now, between Pinkfreud?s kind comment and your
generosity, I am posting this information for you as a formal,
official answer!

Now, I?m not sure why you?re seeking the information about Frank
Sinatra?s office and building number (nor am I sure why the release of
such information might pose a security risk), but I?d like to offer
you some websites that might be of interest to you, so that you get
more than a ?sorry, can?t tell you? answer from your question!

First off, I found it interesting that after posting my comment on
your question, I visited some Yahoo groups and their main page was
featuring groups having to do with ?The Rat Pack.? There are 22 Yahoo
Groups having to do with Frank Sinatra. You can find them here:
http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/dir/Music/Genres/Rock_and_Pop/Artists/Complete_Category_Listing/Sinatra,_Frank?show_groups=1

Who knows? Maybe someone on one of the groups might be a resource for you!

Of course, as I mentioned earlier, there?s the Warner Bros. Studio site.
http://wbsf.warnerbros.com/

Sinatrafamily.com?as the name indicates, this is the family website.
http://www.sinatrafamily.com/

Frank Sinatra grew up in Hoboken, NJ and fans there have set up a site
that claims to be the most comprehensive Frank Sinatra site on the
web. They have a net documentary that is interesting. I enjoyed
listening to the stories and music as I wrote this answer for you (? .
. . picking up lots of forget-me-nots! . . ?).
http://www.nj.com/sinatra/

Frank Sinatra: International Sinatra Society
http://www.sinatraclub.com/

I hope that you can use and enjoy at least some of those links to help
make up for the disappointing news that I cannot provide you with the
original information that you sought. I wish you the best of luck in
the endeavors that you pursue! Again, thank you so much for being such
a stellar customer! Should you need any further clarification, please
do not hesitate to let me know. Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,
Boquinha-ga

Hello foofoo37-ga!

I wish that I had better news for you and that I could post an answer
to your question. I have e-mailed Warner Bros. Studio, called their
archive department, and corresponded with someone in their corporate
offices about your question. They have informed me that for privacy
and security reasons, they do not ever release the building and office
numbers of people who work or have worked in the past at Warner Bros.
Good luck to you!

Sincerely,
Boquinha-ga

Hi Boquinha-ga,

Thank you for trying so hard! Despite not coming up with an answer,
you tried all avenues I wanted tried, so at least I now know I can
completely let it go. Hopefully you will answer another question of
mine when I post it so I may tip you for your efforts!

Thank you so much again,

Hi foofoo37-ga!

Thank you so much for your kind comment! I was disappointed that I
couldn't offer you better news. I do hope to answer another question
of yours, not so much because of your very kind offer, but because it
is always a pleasure to work with such nice people like you! Happy
Holidays!

Thank you again,

Foofoo,

My good friend and colleague Boquinha is probably too modest and
unassuming to mention this, but there is a simple way that you can
reward a Researcher for efforts that may not have fully answered your
question.

Your question is currently priced at $37. You can reduce the fee on
the question to an amount that seems appropriate, and ask the
Researcher to post an official answer consisting of the material he or
she previously posted that was helpful. In this way, the Researcher's
good work is compensated, and you don't have to pay a full fee for an
incomplete answer. This is particularly useful in cases, like this
one, where it is apparent that the answer you'd hoped for cannot be
obtained at all. It can be useful just to know that no answer is
possible, and a Researcher who can tell you why that's the case can be
very helpful indeed.

If this idea appeals to you, here are some good instructions on how to
change your question's price:

Hi boquinha,

Your buddy pinkfreud showed me a way I can still pay you for your
efforts (see his comment below, thanks pinkfreud!). I cut the price
in half and rounded up.... please post an answer and take my money.

Happy holidays to you too!
