By searching for "toronto, new year's eve", I came up with the
following information:

Toronto Harbour Cruise: dinner/dancing/champagne/party favors $115.00/person
Although their website did not give specifics regarding who will
perform for the New Year's Eve cruise, their website,
www.torontoharbour.com lists everything from an illusionist, a
magician, individual musicians and larger combos, showing an ecclectic
mix for many different tastes.

http://www.toronto.com/profile/837912/ is the website for the Toronto
Harbour Cruise New Year's information

The Loose Moose: New Year's Eve Buffet and dancing - starts at 8:00 pm
Tickets are going fast: $30.00 advance/$35.00 at the door (It appears
this is what it costs to get in. I would imagine from the site that
the meal may cost extra but no other info. was available regarding
cost). Live entertainment says DJ and dancing.

For Mississauga, the only way I found any information was to search
under "city of mississauga, ontario" where I found an events calendar:

The only information listed anywhere for Mississauga Ontario for New
Year's is New Year's Day celebrations.

I would assume one could call individual hotels and restaurants for
specific information. I have emailed them through the site to ask
where I might find further information online regarding new year's
celebrations in their city. I will post their reply as soon as one is
received.

North York:

The North York site includes many links for Toronto Proper. I have
emailed them as well to get specific information regarding new year's
eve celebrations and will post when I have heard from them. Just a
note: another site states "former city, north york" which leads me to
believe that is why it was difficult to find anything on events there
as there seems to have been an amalgamation of north york with other
areas in the Toronto area.

What has come up is that hotels are booking up quickly. Are you
planning on staying in the city at a hotel. If so, here is a link to
a good site for hotel information:

http://torontohotels.biz/

I will post any other information from my email inquiries as soon as I receive it.

Hi:

Just received a reply from the Mississauga site which I'll paste below:

Hello Jacqueline,

Thank you for your e-mail. There are no official New Year's Eve
celebrations in Mississauga. Instead, the Mayor has a New Year's Day
event. The following link is to information on that event,
http://www.mississauga.ca/portal/home?paf_gear_id=4600018&itemId=7900026.
The event is from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Sincerely,

Public Inquiries

Because Mississauga is part of Toronto Proper, I would imagine that
any New Year's Eve celebrations they do have would be private
functions of individual hotels etc. I have found some restaurants and
have emailed them separately to see if there is anything happening for
New Year's. Will post replies when they are received.

Just got a reply from Cherry Hill House restaurant in Mississauga:

Guerrino Staropoli
Chef/Owner
---
Cherry Hill House Restaurant
A Mississauga Heritage Site
(905) 275-9300
www.toronto.com/cherryhill

They have an early dinner seating for those going to other parties
afterward (reservations can be taken for 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 and the
cost is $49.50/person)

The second seating is for 8:00, 8:30 or 9:00 and includes champagne
and party favours at midnight as well as dancing to a DJ in the Duke
of Marlborough Pub located downstairs in the historic Cherry Hill
house. Cost for this is $89.50/person and the chef guarantees that it
will be an unforgettable meal.

Contact the chef or Maitre d Patrick if you wish to make a reservation
or ask for further information.
