The movie Clockers features some very disturbing color crime scene
photos in its opening credits sequence.
Were these actual photos taken of murder victims, or were they
created especially for the film with actors?
I've seen books of actual crime scenes, and I've noticed that when
people die they just sort of plop down into whatever position they
assume when they breathe their last, regardless of comfort.
Most movie and TV show "victims" don't look that way because they're
posed with more regard to the actor's comfort. Law and Order is one
exception, in fact there is a black and white collection of L&O crime
scene photos available as a coffee table book.
So if anyone knows whether those photos are real or fake please let me know.
 Thanks...

Dear pcventures-ga

It would seem that Spike Lee, the director of the film, re-created
real homicide photographs.

This is from an interview of Spike Lee from a BBC film review web site.

"The opening credit sequence for "Clockers" (featuring photographs of
gunshot victims) must be one of the most disturbing opening sequences
on film. Aside from the obvious shock value, what was the intention
behind it? James Arliss

'The intent was to deglamourise this whole infatuation with rap and
guns and this idea that it's cool to have a gun and shoot people. I
really wanted to set the tone for the film, right from the beginning;
to say that if you use a gun, or get shot, there's a good chance you
won't get up again. It's not like do-over. Bullets do damage. To do
that sequence we recreated real homicide photographs.? "

He seems to have fooled some of the critics.

"The opening sequence of this movie (while the credits are rolling)
displays actual photographs of young Afro-Americans who have fallen
victim to violence in the city streets."

"Lee shows actual crime scene photographs of drug-related murder
victims behind superimposed opening credits. Beware: Lee doesn't make
the slightest attempt to soften the photos."

Exactly what I was looking for - so apparently he had access to real
photos, but recreated them with actors. Well, he did a great job,
almost too great.
Makes me feel good to know that I went into a bit more detail than the
film critics did (although I'm not on a deadline).
Thanks again!
