seeking as much information as possible to the history (approximate time period) about a travel wind up clock made by Caravelle. It measures approximately 3 by 3 inches when closed. Is hinged in the back and has a gold toned face with roman numerals on the face of the clock only marks are Caravelle at the top below the XII and the word Germany below the IV(V)being upside down which i have no symbol for on this computer) all the roman numerals are raised from the face of the clock , backgroud white with black numerals, the clock hands are black tipped with that flourscent type materail that makes it glow in the dare with each hour also having a "dot" that also glows in the dark.only other markings are on the back of the clock at the bottom right below the wind up key there is another word= Germany. The outside is a definite red color some sort of plastic (bakelite) in raised small dot fashion. The reason for my interest is simple, My father who served in Germany during world war ll gave me this travel clock. At first one could assume that he bought it while there, but then again I suppose it would not just say Germany, but either made in Germany or be not in English but German...of course that is why i am willing to pay for an answer. Dear freenow, I can't provide an answer, but I have found out something that might help you and my fellow Researchers: "Caravelle" was (and still is) actually a brand of the American clock manufacturer Bulova. Many clocks sold by Bulova under the Caravelle brand were manufactured in West Germany. Regards, Scriptor |

well even though the answer to my question is still unanswered unsatisfactory and i think it unfair, and i can't figure out how to rate the person who listed a statement only, and in his own words was not an answer i see i was charged the 5 dollars anyway, It is not a money issue for i find this a worthwhile service, but think it unfair that i be charged for a question that was not answered...oh well such is life on the www. Hello Gene No need to worry. If you've been charged, it must be a mistake. Use the email address at the bottom of this page to get in touch with the editors. I'm sure no-one at Google Answers wants you to pay without receiving an answer. Thanks for your comments about this being a "worthwhile service". I hope things are sorted out soon - but remember it's the weekend! Best wishes - Leli |
