I would like to make direct contact with a family of asylum seekers and give them personal support - not via some organisation but directly. Any ideas about how I could track one down in my area (Reigate) |

I didn't find any organisation really near you, but maybe some of the email addresses and phone numbers on the webpages below would help you get in touch with a local family. Surrey asylum support - list of useful addresses http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/sccwebsite/sccwspages.nsf/LookupWebPagesByTITLE_TXT/Asylum+Support+Team+-+useful+addresses?opendocument Volunteering opportunities (Crawley, Croydon, Kingston?) http://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/downloads/refugee_council/vol_roles_nonrc.pdf Refugee Council http://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/downloads/refugee_council/voluntary_roles.pdf Surrey asylum support team http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/sccwebsite/sccwspages.nsf/LookupWebPagesByTITLE_TXT/Asylum+Support+Team?opendocument |

Jaws1 I hope I didn't misunderstand what you said about "direct contact" and organisations. I took you to mean that you wanted to meet the family personally, not just give donations or do office work. If you didn't want to be referred to organisations at all, my apologies. Good luck - Leli |
