What problems did hooks see in Betty Friedan's The Feminist Mystique?
Why doesn't "sexist tyranny" forge "a common bond between all women'?
What distinctions does hooks make about the suffering of the
oppressed? In what ways does hooks describe herself as a oppressed
woman? In much of her discussion, hooks refers to "a racist, sexist,
capitalist state." To what extent is she correct indescribing
American in these terms? hooks says, "There is much evidence
substantiating the reality that race and class identity creates
differences in quality of life, social status, and lifestyle that take
precedence over the common experience women share." What are the
common experiences that women share? To what extent is hooks right in
saying that race and class make it difficult or impossible for women
to share common ground, even in terms of the feminist movement? hooks
is carefult to criticize Friedan without declaring her work to be
invalid or useless, but she is ver direct in claiming that Friedan
distorts women's issues. Is hooks right? In what ways do the
selections by Mary Wollstonecraft and Virginia Woolf reveal the
problesm that hooks describes? What would the importance of social
class be to Wollstonecraft and Woolf? Would they be open to the
problems of black women? Would they be open to the problems of women
of the servant classes of their own time? How might beel hooks
critique their work? To what extent are Simone de Beauvori's concerns
about the myth of women relevant to hooks's statement, "By projecting
onto black women amythical power and strenght, white women both
promote a false image of themselves as powerless, passive victims and
delfect attention away for their aggressiveness, their power, thier
willingness to dominate and controll others? How does the act of
mythicizing women regardless of color affect them negatively? To what
extent does hooks think that white women aretain considerable power
even while experiencing oppression? In what ways do the experiences
of Harriet Jacobs authenticate the concerns of bell hooks?

Hello rescuequeen-ga,

I see that you have posted three new questions on various aspects of
the work of bell hooks. Each of these is a multi-part questions. You
say in the text of your questions: ?I will pay $5 per each question."

I suggest that you take a look at the pricing guidelines for Google
Answers. As you can see, $50 is the minimum price appropriate for
complex, multi-part questions. (Below, I?ve included several examples
of past questions to give you some comparable standards.) The issue
with your questions about bell hooks is that they require familiarity
with several authors and the ability to analyze and synthesize
material to address the questions posed.

It?s not clear what will constitute a satisfactory answer for you. Are
you expecting us to find reference materials that will help you answer
the questions or are you expecting the researcher to write an essay
for you? Please clarify what type of information you need and what
form our answer should take.

I suggest that you close the this (original) question and with the
remaining questions add a clarification as to how they relate to each
other and what you?re looking for in each in light of the prices
you?ve listed.

We have many researchers who could help you once we better understand
what you need.

I look forward to your clarification.

Whew. I count seventeen questions here. You may want to consider
unbundling this and posting each of these as a separate question, or
increasing the fee considerably.
