Hello rht,
I wasn't able to find any hospitals in central or NW London offering
Dental House Officer or SHO positions, but I found a post for 3 SHO's
in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Ipswich Hospital,
close to London.
-------------------------------------------------
The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.
DEPARTMENT OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY. SENIOR HOUSE OFFICERS X3.

To commence on 4th February 2004 for a period of six months with a
possible further extension.

Ipswich is a modern and vibrant town with something for everyone -
from excellent shopping and nightlife to nearby beautiful beaches and
countryside. It is in a prime location, close to London, the east
coast and has easy access to the continent.
The post is based at Ipswich Hospital with sessions at the Essex
Rivers NHS Trust on a rotational basis and currently falls within Band
2a (including prospective cover) with a 1:5 on-call rota.

*	There are a total of five SHOs in the Department.
*	The post offers excellent opportunities to work in a busy general
hospital and provides good training for higher examinations.
*	The workload includes dento-alveolar surgery, facial trauma,
oro-facial malignancy, the treatment of facial deformities, TMJ
surgery, orthodontics and implantology.

The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this placement and/or programme
has the required educational and Dean's approval. Residential
single/married accommodation may be available. There are excellent
library facilities and an active Postgraduate Centre on-site, as well
as good recreational facilities, an active Doctors Mess and Sports and
Social Club.
-------------------------------------------------

This is the nearest to London I could find.
If this is of interest to you, let me know and I will post details
about how you can apply.

Hi Jack
Ipswich is not near enough to London - it needs to be commuting
distance to NW London. I am looking for something starting Augustlate
2004 and I am sure that some/most of the teaching hospitals will offer
this.
Let me know if you can help.
Thanks
Richard
