I have drawn the coordinate plane using ordinary keyboard characters.
Please note that these graphs will be properly indented only if
displayed in a monospace font such as Courier. This page should show
them in such a font, but if your browser distorts the graphs in any
way, please let me know so that I can arrange an alternate means of
presentation.

a. The point (-3, 5) is marked by an asterisk in the graph below.

                      y
                      ^
                      |
                    8 +
                      |
                    7 +
                      |
                    6 +
                      |
             *      5 +
          (-3, 5) |
                    4 +

                    3 +

                   -3 +

b. As before, the point (2, 4) is marked by an asterisk.

c. The point (6, -14) is marked by an asterisk. Note that the scale of
this graph differs from that of the previous two.

Please be aware that these graphs are meant to be displayed in a font,
such as Courier, in which all characters are equally wide. If you do
not view the graphs in such a font, they will be distorted to the
point of inaccuracy. They should be correctly displayed on this web
page. Are they not?
