I am looking for the manufacturer of the wheelcase assembly / bottom
wheels for a rolling ladder for libraries. All of the manufacturers
(like Alaco or Putnam Rolling Ladder) state that they don't sell the
hardware separately, and that you need to buy the whole ladder. The
problem is that I live in Mexico and it would be impossible to ship
the ladder, that's why I just want to buy the bottom wheels. I want to
find out who is the manufacturer and how I can get in touch with them.
Ome of the rolling ladder manufacturers give the bottom wheel assembly
the code SORL270BK.

Hello,

I found some information from two companies that MAY be helpful, but I
can't confirm with the companies that they will ship the wheel
hardware, separately, to Mexico. So I am posting the information as a
comment, here, rather than as an answer.

The first company is Lynn Lader at:

http://www.lynnladder.com/lynlad/lynlad103.htm

who specifies the exact part number you're asking about, and several
closely related varieties.

SORL270 Silver Standard Bottom Wheels pr. 5 lbs.
SORL270BK Black Standard Bottom Wheels pr. 5 lbs.
SORL270B Brass Standard Bottom Wheels pr. 5 lbs.
SORL335 Silver Bottom Wheels with Brakes pr. 11 lbs.

From all appearances, they seem to ship these individually, but you'll
have to use their contact form to confirm this, and to have them quote
a price:

==========

The second possibility is Cotterman's at:

http://www.cotterman.com/main/ns/44/doc/45

This site refers to a "#57 bottom fixture" for their library ladder,
but I must admit, I'm not 100% clear on what that is...however, they
may worth contacting.

==========

Let us know if this looks to be on the right track (pun!), or if
you've already explored these options. Any additional information you
can provide would be helpful, and may enable one of the researchers
here to provide you a definitive answer.

Good luck.

Hi,
The first site states at the bottom of the parts list that the Putnam
hardware is sold as replacement parts only, therefore is no good.

The second site seems promising but I could not see if they sold the
wheelcase assembly only. They list an oak rolling ladder that has the
bottom wheels that I am looking for.
