Nobody else seemed to jump in and I can't find anything else. Would
you accept $5 for what you found? (the details behind the nine
stations which stunted to Christmas music, and the one which played
the promotional loop)

ORIGINAL QUESTION:
Two radio stations in Vancouver, Canada, have now temporarily switched
to all-Christmas-music, all-the-time. It's a practice in the industry
known as stunting -- where stations temporarily go to a format
extremely different than their usual. I'm looking for three other
examples of stunting in Canadian radio, and ideally a reference to the
first time the strategy was used (regardless of country).

Here's what I found on Canadian all-Christmas radio programming:

"97.3, EZ Rock, (CJEZ-FM), in Toronto, Canada started playing
Christmas music on November 22 [2002], all day for the entire season."

Bible Network News

Eight additional Canadian stations broadcasting all Christmas music in
December 2003:

Calgary CHFM-FM 95.9
Edmonton CFMG-FM 104.9
Kingston CFFX-AM 960
Montreal CKOO-FM 98.5
Ottawa/Hull CKBY-FM 105.3
St. Catharines/Niagara CHRE-FM 105.7
Toronto CHFI-FM 98.1
Winnipeg CFQX-FM 104.1

Here's an article about the "all Christmas, all the time" trend:

An account of a station "stunting" with a promo loop:

"980 CJME SK Regina 1-5 0215 Stunting with continuous 1 minute promo
loop. Ticking clock sound between segments. Says it will begin
broadcasting on this frequency on Tuesday (ex-1300) with news-talk
format."
