Is there any software that can be downloaded that will block spam by simply loading a compete outlook express address book into the program so that the only email that can be received is email sent from an address that coincides with an address in the address book. |

Hi there! What you need is a program that supports whitelisting. There are a number available: Email Express http://www.privacylabs.net/EmailExpress/index.shtml Email Express support explains how to import your OE address book into a whitelist here: Address Book/Whitelist Import http://www.privacylabs.net/EmailExpress/onlinehelp/import/index.shtml SpamPal http://www.spampal.org/ To quickly whitelist your OE address book with SpamPal: http://www.spampal.org/usermanual/clients/oe/oe_export/oe_export.html SpamFighter http://www.spamfighter.com/Product_Info.asp To whitelist in SpamFighter: "Go to More > Options > White list and select "import" in "Address Book" click "import" check "select all" and click "OK"" SpamFighter FAQ http://www.spamfighter.com/Faq_Default.asp Alternatively, you can use OE's built in rules. Kaitlin Duck Sherwood offers the following instructions: "# Add the addresses of the people you know and like into your address book if they aren't already`there. # Open the rules window by selecting Tools->Message Rules->Mail... # Click on the New button at the upper right. # In the uppermost pane, put a checkmark in the box labeled Where the From line contains people. # Click on people in the bottom pane. # Add all the people you know you like, then click OK. # In the middle pane, put checkmarkes in the boxes labeled Move it to the specified folder and Stop processing more rules. (You'll probably need to scroll down.) # Click on specified in the bottom pane and select a folder to put your mail into. # Click on OK buttons until the windows are closed." Sherwood's Top Three Spam Filters in Outlook Express http://www.overcomeemailoverload.com/oe/top3.html Hope that helps! --Missy Search terms: [ "Outlook Express" whitelist ] |
