I played a game at a gathering ("party" would be pushing it) and want to buy it. But I don't know what it is. But I can describe it. Barely. --) It's similar to Taboo, in that you try to get your team to say a word but you can't give certain clues. --) A plastic thing that holds a cardboard disc (contain clues and answers) is passed around the circle. --) The group is divided into two teams who sit in alternation around the circle: A-B-A-B-A-B. --) If I remember correctly, it was marketed by a familiar game company. --) There was a race-against-the-clock aspect (of course). Thanks for trying to read my mind. :-D Please also see my other related question. |

Hello. I believe that you're thinking of "Catch Phrase" (from Parker Brothers/Hasbro). See this description on eBay: "Very fun game; plays like TABOO; Get your teammates to guess the word or phrase, but you can say ANYTHING! There's a 'Hot Potato timer, and whoever's turn it is when the timer goes off loses! LOTS OF FUN. For 4 or more adult players or teams." See a picture including the plastic thing and cardboard discs at eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3160349563&category=2530 Another photo of the contents of the game on this eBay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3157037813&category=235 The game may be purchased new for $17.99 from Target: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html?asin=B00000IWEU -------- search strategy: game, "like taboo" "catch phrase", "board game" If this isn't the game that you had in mind, please let me know via the "request clarification" feature. Thanks. |
