Hi There ! I keep buying scented candles that don't have much scent, whether lit or unlit. I want to buy candles that are downright pungent. A 5-star answer would be 2 sites that sell candles rated "plenty stinky" by candle consumers---not just the company itself. Flavors don't matter. *Strength* of scent is all that matters. All comments greatly appreciated! Thanks. ron |

Hi Ron! Great big *YES* on the Yankee Candle Company's products. You don't even need to burn their apothecary (jar) candles to get the room to smell like one - just take the lid off and leave it alone! I have a 14.5 ounce "Stormwatch" on my desk, and find it quite divine: Stormwatch http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/listing.jsp?scent=Storm+Watch%26reg%3b&view=ALL --Missy |

I'm a candle freak from way back and also a fan of the Yankee candle (Honeydew Melon for me), because they *are* very fragrant. However, even though I trim the wick and *try to remember* not to burn past the recommended time, I get a black soot residue around the top of the jar. I don't know about you, but I have difficulty breathing when I have my apartment all lit up like a cathedral. I looked around this morning after finding your question and located this site for soybean wax candles that have a satisfaction guarantee. Their aromatherapy line is made with pure essential oil embedded in 99.5% pure Soy Bean Candle Wax and they have cotton wicks. Think I'll give 'em a try (Orange/Lemon Grass). http://www.itsasoy.com http://www.itsasoycandle.com http://www.dittocandles.com The only other *really* fragrant candles I've bought were from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I don't believe they had a manufacturer's name but they were unmatched in my random smell test and were just as fragrant while they were burning. All I remember was that they were very middle earth scented, no fruity or perfumey fragrance in the assortment. Not much to go on, I know. Hope that helps, V |
