Is there a special reason why you want the script from voc.sourceforge.net ?

I have another excellent chat script.
Please have a look at
http://www.guildo-online.com/apnoe_chat/index.php3?L=english
Could you imagine using this chat script ? Itīs based on php and MySQL

1.
Iīm thinking about your question "sentence". Please be patient.

2.
In the download area of voc.sourceforge.net you will find versions of
the script that are specific for operating systems:

"Voodoo chat -- download area
For *nix systems:
binary daemon for linux daemon-linux-0.20.31.gz (18 182 Bytes)
binary daemon for linux, with mysql-support
daemon-linux-mysql-0.20.31b.gz (24 728 Bytes)
binary daemon for FreeBSD daemon-freebsd-0.20.31.gz (16 993 Bytes)
binary daemon for FreeBSD, with mysql-support"

As I do not know which operatings system is running on your server I
canīt answer this question.
You got to ask your provider to find out if the script will run on your server.

I installed the script on my domain. Followed the steps explained at:
The step-by-step procedure when calling 'chat/admin/configure.ph'
worked well, all you have to there is adjust file permissions as
described in this procedure.
All steps ened with an "OK" message by the script.
But after login all I saw was an error page.
I canīt find a mistake.
Maybe the linux version running on our server does not really fit. Iīm
not expert enough to find out the error.

Sorry, but I canīt find the solution here.
Try to follow the instructions given at
Maybe your operation system will let the script run.

Allright, I will now explain what you have to do to install the script.
As explained above the installation procedure went well on my server
but the script did not run.

After the complete un-zipping of the script archive files you will
need your ftp software to transfer the files to a directory (I used a
new, empty one called "voc"). Keep the original directory structure.
Please keep in mind that the files have to be tranferred in ASCII mode
(not in binary mode!)

After the transfer open the file go to the ../chat/admin directory on
your server edit the admin_users.php file to change login information.
Select a username and password as desired.

Chmode the sessions.php file to make it writeable (I already explained
how this is done using we ftp pro).
Next step is calling
http://www.yourdomain.com/your_directory/chat/admin/configure.php
in your browser.
The script will test all necessayr adjustments in a several step
procedure. You will have to fill in some form fields (you wil need the
correct sever path to your domain and/or directory at the step).
Ususally the defaults detemined by the installation script will work.
You will have to change several file permissions while the installing
is running (the script will tell you step-by-step which files have to
be chmoded.

Thatīs it. after all steps have indicatd "OK" follow the screen
instructions to login as admin for the first time.
If you still have problems try to contact the forum for the voc project at:

I hope you will get this nice script running.

I have not still been able to install this thing

The script is really complicated, although the install routine seems
to be fine at first sight. I tried hard but could not get it running
on my server (the very first php script that does ot run).
I canīt find a reason fot his, maybe the specialists at
http://voc.sourceforge.net/forum/ can help

Sorry for no better news.
