Greetings Pafalafa:

From the female persuasion, PinkFreud would be definitely be my top
choice. From the male persuasion, #1 would have to be Will Rogers
(followed by Brad Pitt as a *very* close second). However, the
following Okies are also worthy of notice:

Gene Autry
Hoyt Axton
William "Hopalong Cassidy" Boyd
Lon Chaney
Roy Clark
Gordon Cooper
Joan Crawford
John Denver
Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd
James Garner
Woody Guthrie
Vince Gill
Paul Harvey
Ron Howard
Reba McEntire
Phillip McGraw "Dr. Phil"
Carry Nation
Wiley Post
Belle Starr

Thanks for asking this very interesting question!

Best regards,

Belle Starr...? Wasn't she a comic book character.

Oh, wait...that's *Brenda* Starr. Belle was Bart Starr's
sister....right? And surprisingly, I do recognize most of the names
on your excellent list.

Anyway...nice working with ya!

Could be Will Rogers, of course. But I'm still hopin'.

Garth Brooks is a nice boy who was born in Tulsa. He'd be on my list,
if only because he managed to become a huge name in the music business
even though he is a bit pudgy and is losing his hair. It's comforting
to know that not everyone has to look like Billy Ray Cyrus to make it
in Nashville. ;-)

Another lovely song (not written by Garth, but popularized by him) is "The Dance":
