Question ID: 283293
I need at least 25 years of economic data (25 years is fine though) on
a country that is NOT the U.S. or U.K. Any other country is just
fine. The only 2 series of data I need are GNP (the variable is
(Y+T+D) in my class) and Consumer Expenditures (whose variable is C in
my class).
I'm guessing that they will be this way anyway, but I need the 25
years of data to be in some kind of normalized form. For instance,
the Y+T+D data series and the C data series could all be in 1985
dollars or even 1933 dollars. It doesn't matter what year the dollars
are in, just as long the data is all normalized to a single year.

by the way, any 25 year period is just fine!

Hi Fetter

I've found data for France from 1978-2002 inclusive, which I believe
will meet your needs.

The GNP is given in points relative to a base of 100 in 1995.

The Consumer Expenditures figures are given in 1995 Euros.

Billions of Euros - 1995 prices

==========================================

These figures come from Excel tables downloadable from this page:
http://www.insee.fr/fr/indicateur/cnat_annu/series.htm

In French GNP is PIB or "Produit intérieur brut".
The table I used was:
1.103 Indices de prix des ressources et emplois de biens et services
(Base 100 en 1995)

Consumer expenditure is described as "dépense de consommation"
(spending on consumption).
The table I used was:
1.302 Dépense de consommation finale des ménages en volume (prix de
l'année précédente chaînés, base 1995)

The website is run by INSEE, "L'Institut national de la statistique et
des études économiques", the national institute of statistics and
economic studies.

If there are any French words on the site you want to translate, try
the online dictionary here:

Also, please let me know if you have any queries about the data, or
need help with the French. Just use the "request answer clarification"

Good luck with your project!

Best wishes - Leli
