sorry....

I'm really looking for something that you could leave in a very public
place and nobody would pick it up as trash or know what it is......

I would consider a "dead drop bolt" or "a Hollow nail"
PLEASE TRY TO STICK TO "DEAD DROP" ITEMS.
good luck....I will add a nice tip...i know this is a little tricky...

Hi again Kitch8!

I'll continue my search and if I locate the product you require, I'll let you know.

In any case this question remains open for other researchers to answer.

The only thing I could find is part of a child's toy. Perhaps very amateurish.

A friend of mine once had a stash can that I thought was pretty
interesting. He took a motor oil can (the kind with steel ends and
paper sides) and very carefully cut the top off. He then added weight
to the can so that it still felt like it was full of oil. It fooled
me.

There are a number of sources of "rock safes" which are sold as places
to hide house keys but they could be used for hiding other smallish
items.
