I am using microsofts backup software/scheduled tasks to make backs up
my server. there is one scheduled task for a full back up and one for
incremental.

problem is these backs up go to a hard drive. i have enough space for
2 full backup images (each backup is 40GB ) and i also do daily
icrementals. so each week after the whole drive gets backed up, i have
to delete the incremental scheuled task (so there is no similtanoues
incrment backup when the whole HD is being backed up then DELETE the
old image and reset the backup scheduled tasks. if this sound
uncessary and complicated well you are right... please suggest to me a
better way to do t his.. my capacity is 100GB i cant leave it always
backing up..something has to be done to do a full hd backup, then
delete the old one and do daily increments. if you can tell me how to
automated this or what the best software is for the job! keep in mind
i am using remote desktop to administer this server. feel free to ask
me quests about this but the sooner the better!

Hi,

Are you backing the server HDD image onto another HDD within the same
machine, or are you creating an image over the network and copying it
over to another machine?

Thanks.

why dont you set execution time limits on the backup tasks in
scheduled tasks and then add tasks to follow the backup tasks to
perform garbage collection (the deleting/moving part that you do
manually) using batch files
