How do I disable the function in the Google search bar that displays each search that I have made? E.G if I search for Terry, then each time I type a search beginning with "T", I see the word Terry, alonng with any other search I have done that begins with "T". This is irritating and I want to disable it, but cannot find any inforamtion on how to do it. |

Hi there, 1) Go to the Google ToolBar and click on the Google logo to access the drop down menu. 2) Choose the Clear Search History option. To stop the toolbar remembering queries: 1) Click on the Google logo to access the drop down menu. 2) Select Toolbar Options (or just Options) 3) Untick the box next to "Keep a search history in a drop-down list under the search box" or "drop-down search history" Best wishes, robertskelton-ga |

This is a good answer if you are specifically talking about the Google Toolbar. But if it is Internet Explorer that is saving your past searches (using www.google.com),this wont work. You will need to clean your windows cache. Write back a comment if you need help with this, as it can be a hassle, or download a free trial of purgeie at www.purgeie.com. |

Even better if you are using IE to get rid of past search?s just hit the down arrow to highlight them and then hit the Del key. |
