I am looking for a photo of the 20th Station Hospital on Guadalcanal in the South Pacific. Hospital was created c. late 1942. I prefer a WWII-era photo but will consider anything --- eemnants of the buildings with a commemorative plaque exist today and a photo of that would be OK. |

To ronq-ga: thanks for the photo, explanantions, and many links. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I was surprised to find the hospital actually was a hospital ship. I've in communication with a WWII vet who was wounded in the S. Pacific, evacuated thorugh the 20th, returned to Guadalcanal c. 1996 and took pictures (temporily not available) of what remains of the buildings and the commemorative plaque. I know you said you weren't concerned about the money but you earned it but I'm sure how to pay a commentor. I'll query google. |
