I did a comprehensive search using lyric search engines and some sites
that specialize in the 80's and could not find any song that even
comes close with those lyrics. Some questions come to mind that might
help clarify this. Was it on radio, and if so what station? What genre
is the song, Rock, Jazz, Country, etc? Was it done by a group or an
individual? Could the song have been written and/or performed in the
70's? Any other information that you can remember would be helpful. It
is also possible that what you heard for the words are different from
what was in the actual song. I will check back later to see if you
have any more information.

Hello - thanks for attempting to answer this. There are actually two
instances of this question - I asked it twice while setting up a login
ID etc. I have added a clarification to the other instance of this
question but will also add the material here.

I was given a cassette tape of an album some time in the early 80s.
The tape contains at least 11 songs - one of them is cut off when the
end of the tape is reached. The third song on the tape contains the
lyrics given - some more details of these lyrics are given below.

The songs are performed by a group which contains as a minimum one
woman and one man although there could be more of each. One of the
songs contains what appears to be Spanish, another seems to be in the
style of a Chinese military song. Accordingly it is difficult to gauge
what the nationality of the performers is although the woman may be
English. I have copied the tape onto CD and can provide a copy of this
to anyone who wants to have a go at identifying the group.

If it would be of assistance I will try to write down some more lyrics
from another song.
