I am looking for information regarding the author of the book LAMENT. 
The author's name is given as David "Sunset" Carson.  I have not been
able to find anything about him online.  I think it may be a
pseudonym.  I'd like a biography of the author and a list of other
work he's written.  The back of the dust jacket says he is co-author
of MAGNIFYING GLASS, a volume of poetry.  I haven't been able to find
any information to support this.  LAMENT was published in 1973 by
Grove Press and distributed by Lyle Stuart, Inc.

I've found a few tidbits for you.

The only book that the Library of Congress lists by David "Sunset"
Carson is "Lament."

According to a newsgroup post, David is the brother of the
screenwriter L.M. "Kit" Carson.

L.M. "Kit" Carson was born in Dallas, Texas, according to the IMDB, so
it seems likely that David "Sunset" Carson is probably a Texan, too:

As usual, my friend and colleague Pinkfreud is correct. David Carson
almost certainly is/was a Texan.

In fact, the University of Texas library has one of the 100 copies
printed of the elusive "Magnifying Glass."
