I remember hearing a story about I belive an airplane manufacturer
having chemicals released into holding ponds on their property. The
holding pond had a crack and allowed seepage into the local water
table. I nned to know the company and specifics of this incident.

Todd,

This could be so many different incidents, it's hard to imagine a
researcher finding the right one for you without a few more clues.
Boeing alone has at least five sites involved in the national
Superfund program.

Can you tell us anything else? Where? When? What company? How did
you hear of it?

Any of the boeing sites in the superfund which are caused specifically
by groundwater infiltration by holding ponds would be fine. I need an
article about how it happened and a link or two to the legal
ramifications.

Hughes Aircraft (now Raytheon) also was responsible for TCE and other
contaninants leaking into the groundwater in Tucson, Arizona.

Hughes (now Raytheon) built a treatment plant to deal with the problem
beneath its property. As a result of a consent decree and agreement,
the Tucson Airport Authority, U.S. Air Force and others built a
treatment plant for the water downgrade from the airport.

Information on this can be found in a University of Arizona study,
"Water in the Tucson Area: Seeking Sustainability", which can be found
here:

Is this the type of study you're looking for?
