Hello infernos,
As you probably know, Kabbalah is a very large topic. (A smart woman
like Madonna has studied it for years, and I'm sure she'd say she has
a lot more to learn.) Moreover, there are many points of view about
the Kabbalah: for instance, Orthodox Jewish perspectives, and views of
Kabbalah as a body of spiritual knowledge that does not require Jewish
practice.
The following introductions provide information about the basic
premise (which I suppose can be summarized as that God and creation,
including human beings, are connected in profound ways), date of
origin (depends on how you look at it: Abraham, Roman times, or as
late as the 13th century), and other aspects of Kabbalah.
