Dear Brookville,

When researching the "best" programme, there is always the question of
subjectivity. What is good for one person may not be good for another.
In addition, not many universities offer distance learning, online
programmes, in sports management.

If you are concerned with accreditation and reputation (which, of
course, have an impact on job-finding prospects and on the level of
academic information you'll receive), the best institution for you,
without doubt, is the United States Sports Academy.
<http://www.ussa.edu/PROGRAMS/sportman.htm>.

The University of the Americas, a subsidiary of the USSA, offers a
bachelor in sport management:
<http://www.uoa.edu/sport-management.htm>

These programmes are the most serious, since they are regionally
accredited, as well as by The North American Society for Sport
Management (NASSM). The NASSM published a list of the institutions
that are accredited by the Society:
<http://www.nassm.org/universities.htm>

The only online programme is that of the USSM.

Another university to consider is Nova Southwestern University
<http://www.fgse.nova.edu/sportsmanage/>, because of relatively good
reputation.

The American Military University, designed for military personnel,
could be also a solution:
MA in Sports Management
<http://www.apus.edu/AMU/navigation/academic_programs/select_program_info.asp?mID=50&nav=3>

You could learn about the good reputation and accreditation of both at
Degree Info
<http://www.degreeinfo.com/index.html>
And especially at their forums:
<http://forums.degreeinfo.com/>

Finally, I found two programmes that are not recommended in terms of
reputation or accreditation, but may fit your needs specifically:

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Sports Administration
Bienville University
This university seems to have serious accreditation problems. Their
web site <www.bienville.edu> doesn't work (at least not for me. It
could be that their site was temporarily down).

Bachelor and Master Programmes in sport management in the Columbia
Southern University:
http://www.columbiasouthern.edu/distance_learning/College_degree/MBA_sport_management.html
http://www.colsouth.edu/distance_learning/College_degree/BSBA_sport_management.html
According to the forum mentioned before, their accreditation and
reputation are not well considered in the job market.

I hope that helped.

I searched the web for terms such as
"Sports management" OR "sport management"
"Online degree" OR "distance learning".

I hope I answered your question. Please contact me if you need any
further clarification on this answer before you tip/rate it.
