Hi tanjantest,

It should be quite straight forward to replace the battery. There
should be a battery release button or lever on the base of the laptop
which should be easy to identify as it has a padlock symbol next to
it. If you press this button it should unlock the mechanism and let
you slide the battery out [N.B. make sure you keep the button
depressed whilst you slide the battery out.] You should then be able
to insert the new battery in much the same way, making sure the
battery locks into place properly (and can't slide out accidentally).
Unfortunately I was not able to locate a clear diagram, or a user
manual, but I have spoken to Toshiba Technical support and this is
what they advised.
