Basically, right now I have a website that i can ftp files to.....but as i am trying to set up a PHP/MySQL site, i need to specify the server file location in the config.php script.....and my hosting company won't give me this information. Can you telnet into the server? If so, you can just use the command : pwd That should print out your directory location. Sometimes a very cleve ISP will make a directory name begin with a ".", pwd will not show that directory, but that's kinda of rare. pwd should work for you. Also, once you ftp to a site (assuming you are using a GUI client), you may be able to enter the pwd comand (Print Working Directory) from within your FTP client. That should also work for you. You'll probably see something like /home/a/ab/abc. That's how an ISP my divide up their site to make it a bit easier to organize thousands of accounts. |
