Hello saabster

Are you interested in a complete twelve-volume set, available from a
European dealer? If you're in North America, I'm afraid this would not
reach you for Christmas.

I have found one other possibility, but that dealer only has a single
volume and I am waiting to hear which volume it is. Let's hope it's
one of those on your list!

Bad news, Saabster, I'm afraid.
The single volume is number 5, "Monograph 1924-1936".

I hope another researcher will be able to discover one of the volumes
you're seeking, but do let me know if you have any interest in the
complete set.

Yes I am interested in the 12 volume set and it need not arrive by
christmas. I am also interested in any of the individual volumes that
are on the list I provided.

Thanks for your work thus far.

Thanks for your message.

I haven't been able to find anything except the twelve volume set, and
can't think of any more places to try looking.

The set is offered at 3800 Euros, with shipping to be arranged.
Overall, the books are said to be in very good condition, although on
three volumes the binding is somewhat loose.

Would you like me to give you all the details as your official answer?
Or would you prefer to leave the question open for a few days to see
if another researcher can find one or more individual volumes for
sale?

As I'm in the UK, I won't be at my desk for much longer today. If you
do ask me to post the information I've found, I hope you won't mind
waiting until tomorrow.

Thanks - Leli

Saabster - sorry there's no news of any individual volumes for you.

Let me know if you're still interested in the 12 volume set and I'll
write up the details for you.

Sorry, but I am not sure of the exchange rate -what's the quivalent of
3800 euros in US$? I just learned from a rare book handler in SF that
he just sold 12 volumes of these monographs to different buyers at
$380 per volume. Is this seller refusing to sell them except as a 12
volume set? And would the seller be wiling to provide a polaroid of
the books in order for me to view their physical condition?

Thanks for your time and effort.

3800 Euros is around $4670 at present, according to:
http://finance.yahoo.com/m3?u

I have emailed the bookdealer to ask if there is any chance of buying
volumes separately, and will let you know if I receive a favourable
response.

Hummer,

Thank you for the search. I am interested in volume #6. You mentioned
that both have their dust jackets, but you didn't say anything else
about the condition of the books. I am very interested. Would it be
possible for you to provide me information on the seller, so that I
might get in touch to discuss the a possible purchase?

Hummer,

Thank you for following thru and providing me with seller's info. I
will be contacting Shining Brow. I had also found this site and saved
it as a favorite. When I checked its online rare books for sale, I
didn't see a FLW monograph. I am pleased that you were able to do so!
Thanks for your time and effort! I also appreciate Leli-ga's efforts on my behalf.
I accept this as the answer to my inquiry.

It's always a good idea to send an enquiry to booksellers who
specialize in Frank Lloyd Wright, even if you can't find what you are
looking for in their catalogues - chances are, the majority of their
stock has not been listed yet online. We sent an enquiry to Shining
Brow because we found the following note at the bottom of this page:

Title: Frank Lloyd Wright Monograph (12 volume sets)
Author: Pfeiffer, Bruce Brooks and Futagawa, Yukio
Multiple editions and copies (Call for details)

Here are two more booksellers who list Frank Lloyd Wright as their
speciality in the "1998 AB Bookman's Yearbook: The Specialist Book
World Annual".

Mike Lilek told me that it can take five years or more to complete a
set, so I wish you good luck with your quest. Often, the fun is in the
search and it is a bit of a let-down when it is over. Don't forget to
get on Mike's "want list" - he'll notify you when he finds copies for
you.

Thank you and Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
hummer

Hummer,

This book is for someone who lives in Berkeley and I wouldn't be
surprised if that book seller you listed isn't the one from whom he's
purchased his other Frank Lloyd Wright Monographs-but I will check to
make sure.

Leli-ga

As Hummer suggests, sometimes the fun is in the search- Thanks for
your effort, but will not be able to take advantage of the offer you
found.
