Despite the comment below (which is not from a GA researcher) please
DO NOT post the email address in question. It is not acceptable GA
policy to post anyone's personal information.

Thanks.

If it is the e-mail address of a private individual, please do not
publish it here. The question might be removed by the editors since
contact information for living individuals may not appear on Google
Answers.
However, e-mail addresses of companies, institutions, etc. can be published.

These are the best free options:

Google:
Just search for the email - it might appear on a webpage somewhere.

Infospace:
http://smartpages.infospace.com/_1_2ZDNTTE023P98GJ__yp.smart/reverse.htm

Addresses.com
http://www.addresses.com/reverse_lookup.php

ICQ
http://people.icq.com/whitepages/
Untick the box that says "Online users only"

Yahoo
http://members.yahoo.com/interests?.oc=a

Google Groups
http://groups.google.com
Enter author: followed by the email, ie author:john@john.com

They won't get you an address, but do return a name and possibly a
general location. Finding the address is easy if they are in the white
pages and the name is uncommon, otherwise much more sleuthing is
required.

If they have an AOL account, some paid services might be able to get a
result. If it is a free account like Hotmail, don't pay nayone, they
can't get the info.

Depending on the email address you might also want to enter the
following in the google search window link: +email@youknow.com if the
individual is associated with a web site.
