Hi bugaloo-ga

Well, I don't have a definitive answer for you, but I am beginning to
believe that what you want doesn't exist.

I looked around, and found that Truth Or Consequences (ToC) ran from
1950 to 1974 with revival attempts in 1977 and 1987.
( ://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=cache:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.askmorty.com%2Fq19c.shtml
)

It seems that, while ToC was a pioneer in using Video Tape recording,
( http://archer2000.tripod.com/1950.html ) the process only came to be
in 1956. 6 years too late for a complete archive to be available.

Even so, this was a commercial version of Video. Consumer video didn't
arrive until at least 1969. While it is possible that most of the show
could be lying around on 45 year old tape, most likely the older stuff
deteriorated long ago.

Sorry I couldn't give you better news.

Thank you for your diligence. Would their be any media available from '67-'71?

Well, after some further digging, it occured to me to check out The
Game Show Network's Website. I dug around in the forums, and it seems
that the reason it's hard to find video for ToC is because it's being
sat upon.

Ralph Edwards, one of the earlier hosts, apparently has the rights to
the show, and isn't selling. So, while the occasional episode might be
around, it's unlikely any compilations of seasons will be available.
Of course, this may change at any time.

I found a site that sells game show compilation videos, but they only
listed one with Truth or Consequences on it:

http://www.shokus.com/game.html

304 GAME SHOW PROGRAM, III

1. THE PRICE IS RIGHT (1957). Another classic episode from this vintage
series, complete with original commercials.

2. TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES (1966). Bob Barker hosts the fun and laughs in
this popular stunt show; a color kinescope.

3. THE FACE IS FAMILIAR (1966). This game show scrambles the faces of
celebrities. June Lockhart and Bob Crane are the team captains. Complete
with orig. comm.

4. PDQ (1965). Dennis James hosts this, the original pilot to the
successful game show of the 1960s. Teams try to guess phrases from seeing a
few letters at a time.

Hey, if you just want to view eps, you should inquire at the Museum of
TV & Radio, which has branches in LA and NYC. They have thousands and
thousands of old shows in their collection.
