Riesen candies are manufactured by STORCK, which also manufactures,
along with other familiar confections, the popular candy, Werther?s
Original.
In the late 1940's Storck?s block candy was called ?THE 1 PFENNIG
RIESEN? and renamed ?THE 2 PFENNIG RIESEN?. Later the name was changed
again to ?STORCK RIESEN?. In the 1980?s, to keep up with demand for
its product, Storck began packaging bite-sized candies in bulk under
the simple name ?Riesen?, (though the name Storck still appears on the
package in small print).
