In the 1980s, Sluzba Bezpieczenstwa (SB) (State Security Service) had
both intelligence and security duties.
Other security forces included Milicja Obywatelska (MO) (regular
police), Zmotoryzowane Odwody Milicji Obywatelskiej (ZOMO) (riot
police), and Ochotnicza Rezerwa Milicji Obywatelskiej (ORMO)
(Citizens' Militia Voluntary Reserve).
Military intelligence and counter-intelligence were handled by
Wojskowa Sluzba Wewnetrzna (WSW) (Internal Military Service), written
in one source as Wojskowe Sluzby Wewnetrzne (apparently the plural
form of the name).
