Question ID: 287611
What is the difference between the Torah and the Koran in relationship
to Abraham and Isaac, Abraham and Ishmael, Abraham and Sarah, Abraham
and Hagar? Is the Torah recognized by Muslims as having been given to
Moses by God? Does the Koran recognize the "legality" of the legacy
(specifically land rights, i.e. the land of Israel-Palestine,
Cannan)which God, according to the Torah, has promised to Abraham,
Issac, Jacob..and future generations? According to the Koran what is
the "attitude" or position of Muslims to Jews..Christians? Is there
any mention of "Jihad" or holy wars against Jews or/and Christians?
(If it is possible to give the Sura-chapter and verse from the Koran
for all of these quesstions..I would be most appreciative)..According
to the Koran is there any justification for terrorism, killing of
Jews-Christians?
In the Koran is there a promise for anyone who commits suicide (e.g.
suicide bombers)in the name of Allah, of a heavenly paradise; and if
so what is this promise..

Dear ervinka2003,

You asked no less than seven questions regarding Muslim theology, each
of them requires extensive Research.

Please consider dividing these questions into separate postings,
and/or amending the price. I suggest that you take a look at the
pricing guidelines for Google Answers. As you can see, $50 is the
minimum price appropriate for
complex, multi-part questions.

Dear Lahoria,

Thank you for your comments. I'm wondering if I exp[lained myself
fully. The question I am asking is; What is the difference between
the Torah and the Koran's "treatment" of Abraham to Isaac...and
Abraham to Ishmael? Another way of asking the question: What are the
differences between the Torah/Koran regarding inheritance rights to
isaac ...and inheritance rights to Ishmael?

Lahoria, I don't need a "scholarly" reaserarch for an answrr. I've
read both the Torah and the Koran verses and really cannot find the
specific answer.

What I'm trying to ascertain is "Whether the Koran-Muslim religion
"honors" the "lands" promised to Abraham-Isaac-Jacob by God..i.e. what
"lands-territory" was promised to Isaac and what were the lands that
were given to Ishmael.

Again, thank you for the effort and time you've taken to anser me and
if you can help me with this I'd be most appreciative.

Ervinka

Hi Ervinka2003
as PoliticalGuru mentioned that this is a muli-part question which
require so much research. Just to give u an idea
1- Muslims accept Torah as Word of God given to Moses. only they
believe that with the passage of time God sent other Prophets ( e.g.
Jesus, Mohammad) with their books and Koran ( Quran) being the final
reveleation.
2-Koran (Quran) do accept the legality of the legacy and the right of
generations of Abraham, Ishmail, Issac ( Mohammad being in the same
generation)on the land.
3-some of the verses from Koran ( Quran ) which mention Christians and Jews

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish
(scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in
God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward
with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(2:62)

Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews
and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou
find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men
devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are
not arrogant.
(5:82)

"Say: 'O People of the Book (i.e., Jews and Christians)! Come to
common terms as between us and you:  That we worship none but Allah;
that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among
ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.' If then they turn
back, say ye: 'Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to
Allah's Will).' (3:64)"

Children of Israel! call to mind the favour which I bestowed upon
you, and that I preferred you to all others. (2:47 repeated in 2:122)
Remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Call in remembrance
the favour of Allah unto you, when He produced prophets among you,
made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among
the peoples.(5:21)

And most certainly We gave Musa the Book and We sent
apostles after him one after another; and We gave Isa, the son of
Marium, clear arguments and strengthened him with the holy spirit,
What! whenever then an apostle came to you with that which your souls
did not desire, you were insolent so you called some liars and some
you slew.(2:87)

4- there is no where in Koran ( Quran ) or in teaching of Mohammad
which preach killing or terrorism. infact killling anyone( without
just cause ) is strongly prohibited. and Jews and Christians are
considered Children of Book and Koran have high words for them.

Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause.
And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority
(to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him nor exceed bounds in the
matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law). (17:33)

Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as
Allah has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; -
and any that does this (not only) meets punishment.(25:68)

5- Suicide is not permitted in Islam. in any case. repeat in any case.

And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your
own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for Allah
loveth those who do good. (2:195)

O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in
vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual
good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath
been to you Most Merciful! (2:29)

So Hope this helps in ure research.
best regards
Lahoria

You might find this website (Christian Apologetics & Research
Ministry) interesting; you'll find specific pages about the
differences between the Bible and the Qu'ran (Koran) and whether Jihad
is mentioned in Muslin texts:
