I'd like to know what life was like in this small area during these years. What were the politics that governed everyday life? Who controlled that area - politically, religiously and socially? What was everyday life for the poorer community - small farmers, farm workers? What was life like for the "middle class" community - shop keepers and so on? What was education like for the poor and middle class? What clothes were available? What food was eaten? And so I could continue. What was the weather, particularly the winters, like? But spring, summer and autumn too. What were the illnesses most feared and protection against? Any leads? | |
