I'd like to know what life was like in this small area during these years.
What were the politics that governed everyday life?
Who controlled that area - politically, religiously and socially?
What was everyday life for the poorer community - small farmers, farm workers?
What was life like for the "middle class" community - shop keepers and so on?
What was education like for the poor and middle class?
What clothes were available?
What food was eaten?
And so I could continue.
What was the weather, particularly the winters, like? But spring,
summer and autumn too.
What were the illnesses most feared and protection against?
Any leads?

Hello szabo-ga,

I?d be delighted to help you with your research but the scope of your
multiple questions is bigger than I feel I could do justice to within
the Google Answers pricing guidelines.

My preliminary research shows that there are quite a few resources in
Hungarian but it is difficult to guess whether the historical
information you?re looking for will be available online. I also note
that you have a Hungarian name. Will Hungarian resources be suitable
for you or only sites that have been translated into English?

Here are a couple of starting points for Lake Velence or ?Velencei-tó?

I look forward to your clarification.

Thank you for your response.
I would like each part researched so maybe a quote for each part from
yourself would be the best way to proceed. I am not in a position to
pay a great deal - unfortunately - if I could it would mean I could do
the work myself - and I understand precisely that suitable recompense
should be available.

Please do answer with what you can do - even if it is only partial or one part.

Again, thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate that.

I would also like to thank you for the two web sites you suggested. I
have, in fact, visited them both before. I have also visited the area
on train, bike and foot. My knowledge of Hungarian was too limited to
gather sufficient information within the time span I had - just a few
days.

I speak and translate in French, Italian, German, Spanish plus some
others which might be helpful.

Again thank you.
