Hi dlayne123456,

I believe this is the recipe you are seeking:

AMISH 30 DAY FRUITCAKE:
http://www.cebsys.com/fmkit/001252.htm

All of your ingredients match-up:

1 Cup Starter [1-1/2 cups]
l large can peaches [1 large can Sliced peaches, with juice]
1 can pineapple chunks [1 16 ounce can Pineapple chunks, cut in half]
cherries [2 small jars Maraschino cherries, cut in half]

As does the timing:

Day 1
Day 10
Day 20
Day 30

As does the "ready to bake cakes" - the foundation of three cakes are:

3 boxes Yellow or Butter Cake mix

In regards to the starter: ON DAY 30:
"Drain fruit in colander over large bowl for about 15 minutes or until
fruit has stopped draining. You should have 6 cups of fruit mixture
after you drain the mixture This juice is your NEW STARTERS."

I hope I've found what you are looking for. If not, or if you have any
questions, please post a clarification request before closing/rating
my question. I'm sorry that copyright restrictions keep me from
posting the entire recipe here, but you'll find a clear, printable
version at the link I provided.

Thank you,
hummer

I saw this q/a and found it pretty interesting. I'm just wondering
how you can make the cake if you're not fortunate enough to have a
friend give you a cup of starter liquid (how to start without a
starter!)

Hi kariny,

Actually, I had wondered the same thing but neglected to check it out.
Given that the Amish 30 Day Fruitcake mentions "Friendship Fruitcake
Starter", I searched for those terms and came up with the following
link:

FRIENDSHIP FRUITCAKE STARTER: If you haven't "inherited" the starter:

Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for the link, hummer. I don't think I'll be trying this recipe
anytime soon, but who knows, one day I might!
