Hi....I suffered from burning tongue for 17 years and figured it was
from smoking. About 4 years ago I found out I was diabetic. Then a
year ago, because of diabetes, I had all of my upper teeth pulled and
got dentures. A month after getting dentures the burning tongue went
into overdrive and I thought I was going to die. During the 17 years I
had asked every doctor and dentist I met about my burning tongue and a
small white patch of skin inside my mouth and no one knew what is was
even after I had a biopsy done on the patch. Finally about 6 months
ago I was searching the Internet late one night and found several
articles about thrush. I thought thrush was just for babies, but it
turns out that anyone of any age can get it. However, people with HIV
and or diabetics have trouble with thrush more often. I printed out
the info and went to a doctor known to be liberal minded and he
prescribed a round of medicine to cure the thrush in 14 days. I'm
sorry I forget the name, but any doctor will know the drug, it works
very fast and a round of it cost me about 125 bucks. But for the first
time in years my tongue didn't burn and I was delighted...but then it
started back up again. I found thru experimentation that in order for
me to keep the thrush away for good, I had to put my dang teeth in a
jar every night and not sleep with them and also after taking them out
I take a swig of vodka and swish it around in my mouth for about 3
minutes and then spit it out. I figure any alcohol will work fine, I
just happened to have a bottle of vodka. Since I started doing this I
have not had a bit of trouble and it is amazing how badly a burning
tongue messes up your life. For the record...I am not a nut! This
really works for me and I am once again a happy camper. Good luck!
