I am looking for a 1960s toy that had Fred flintstone sitting on a
quarry dinosaur. It was battery operated and the dinosaur's neck
moveed up and down. Original dinosaur was likely purple. Fred sat in a
"cage" which was open-sided with a roof. Toy was circa 12-18 inches in
length.

Hi Samosetbearcrow!

I located a number of Fred Flinstone battery operated toys that match
your description.

HUGE MARX 1962 DINO MECHANICAL TOY WORKS !!!

This is a DINO and Fred Flintstone Mechanical toy made by Marx in 1962.

Fred and the cabota he is in are made of tin. Freds head is rubber.
The base and the inside are tin. The wheels are rubber. Dinos head
is a rubber type material. Dinos body is all tin covered with a
purple cloth to make him look like dino on the show. The toy uses 3 D
batteries. He works perfectly.

Dino moves and fred goes back and forth, dinos head goes up and down
the toy goes round in circles and works wonderfully. The battery
compartment is without wear. The original sticker from the company is
on the bottom. The toy is signed MARX Made in Japan Louis Marx
Company.

The toy is in very nice shape. Dino is a rose purple color. I think
he may have been darker purple at one time but his color has faded.
There is not any rust on the toy. I do not see any tears or worn
through spots on Dino's body

3868 Fred Flintstone & Dino by Marx. Large battery operated bump & go

he "pulls back" on Dino and goes in another direction. Nice & Clean.
Missing the top awning. Otherwise - works great and looks great! *Also
listed on Cartoons pg. 1960s $225
