Question ID: 289913
Is there a simple way to move messages -- preferably en mass; I've got
about seventeen hundred of them -- from Outlook Express (Office 2000,
Windows 98) to Entourage in Mac OS 10.2? If not, is there some other
way to store these messages and preserve the OE filing system?

Hi McCook - good to hear from you again. I bet your Bug is so shiny
it's being mistaken for a big Christmas light!

In regards to your question, if you are willing to pay $12.50, I think
it is possible - have a look at this article:

Hummer-ga: Thanks for the help! It led, in a roundabout way, to a
miraculous solution. A friend took your counsel and, exploring further
on his own, found a website called littlemachines.com. For ten bucks,
you can download conversion software called Outlook 2 Mac. Using it, I
moved nearly two thousand messages from Outlook Express to a folder,
from the folder to a Zip drive, and from the Zip drive to Entourage.
It took the program about forty-five minutes to sort it all out, and
me no more than an hour from start to finish, all of it with a
soothing cup of Earl Grey ready to hand. I haven't been through all
hundred and fifty folders yet, but it looks like it's preserved
formatting, attachments and addresses intact. I am overjoyed.

Please post your clarification as an answer, collect your cash, and
keep what looks to me to be the ultimate solution as a small gift to a
nation yearning to breathe free. Thanks for the help over the
holidays. And you are right -- once you get the hang of a G4, you
never go back. (True story: a guy offered to buy it from me on the
subway while it was still in the box.)

Happy 2004 to you and to all ace Google researchers,
McCook

Dear McCook,

Thank you for thinking of me, I appreciate it, although perhaps your
friend deserves this more than I do - sounds like he found a plum.

By the way, unless you took your car home on the subway in a box, I
think you misunderstood me! I was referring to our previous question
concerning "Simonizing a car in southern New England".

To make it official, here is my clarification as an answer:

Sincerely,
