Question ID: 290090
Water in my apt building is marginal. I'm tired of Pur faucet-mount
filters that last a third of their claimed lifespan.
Can someone recommend to me an undersink filter system that meets
these requirements:
Most important - *excellent* filtration of bacteria and chemicals
 Reasonable cost - between $150 and $300
Decent filter lifespan - at least six months
Filters that are fairly easy to change.

 Thanks....

You may want to specify whether you're looking for simply
a 'filtration' system, or a true 'reverse osmosis' system.

Either way, I'd suggest a look at Budget Water USA. They
offer under-sink filtration systems from $99, and reverse
osmosis systems from $125, and they are up-front with their
pricing, whereas finding the price on a Culligan reverse
osmosis system such as the 'Good Water Machine' is a task
for Hercules. It seems they prefer that you contact the
independent distributors for a quote, which seems a little
less than above-board to me.

Budget Water's list of systems is here:

Their price comparison page is here:

Let me know if this satisfies your interests.

Thanks for approving my suggested answer. I'll repeat it
here, with search strategies, as a formal answer:
