I've never been so I was planning a quick trip, mainly to meet up with

Hi there!

If ever you meet with me here in the Philippines I would be glad to
serve you the dishes I just enjoyed last night. Anyway here are things
you might have missed out on the recipes.

Calf pata - calf's leg

Achuete or Achiote -annatto seeds used to give food a reddish color.
Seeds are soaked in water to extract the color. Usually available in
bottles in most supermarkets or Hispanic food stores.

Banana herat was a typographical error. It should have been a "banana
heart". A picture is available here.

These are delicious recipes you might want to try out. :)

Thanks!

Instead of calf's leg, we actually used calf's tail so it was more tasty. :)

Hi, Easterangel

Many thanks for your invite ... and your explanations ...

I'm on my way!

Incidentally, some years ago I travelled on the same plane from
Amsterdam to New York as Mme Marcos and her entourage. And what an
entourage!

Funny, I didn't get a Xmas card from Ismelda this year. Hope she's OK.

If you see her, please say 'Hi' (I am a tall, good-looking Englishman.)

Bryan,

Merry Christmas to you. You could also try these other dishes:

Pork or Chicken Adobo - Pork or chicken sauteed and cooked in soy
sauce, vinegar, black pepper and a bit of sugar.

Tinola - Basically a different kind of chicken soup, it is sauteed
chicken with papaya.

Achuete, by the way, is used to add that tasty reddish color in some
dishes. Enjoy. :)
